June - Summer Delights, Agate Earrings and Something for Dad and YOU!
The longer days and beautiful sunshine brings much delight into
our lives! Trips, outings with friends and families are always exciting to ponder and realize.
I love to travel and search out gemstones for my customers and
bring new items into my studio to work with. One of my frequent places in the city of Toronto, is Cherry Beach. An oasis in the heart of the city, where you can stroll along the shores of Lake Ontario where time stands still for a moment. Leisurely pursuits, people strolling along the beach, with excited pet children eager run in the 'off leash section'. Children making sandcastles, laughing playing, a picnic on the beach.

This is when I love to take my 'studio' outside and create.
With aromas of freshly cooked burgers and fries, cold or hot
drinks for the Greek vendor makes this a special time of year
for all. Seagulls flying in formation looking for the odd french fry dropped by a child as it lands on the sand for their picking!
It's also time to think of graduation and Father's Day around the corner.
I love the old time piece, those fob watches that grandfather used to wear are becoming
in vogue again to my delight.

These have quarts movements and a pleasant face with a lovely butterfly casing in the front. Beautiful detailing on the back.

The clock face is beautifully surrounded in gold leaf scroll work with a
circular black back ground.
The second circle is the actual clock face:
with delicate dots marking the hours, with a sweeping second hand.
To
change the time or active the quartz movement simply lift up the small
screw mechanism at the bottom of the
V formation.

We also have a more contemporary line too, which is in a sky blue face (my favorite with a matching suede cord). The face is bright and welcoming, easy to read

Such was the inspiration for my new Agate White earrings
with sterling silver ear wires, as I imagined the waves rolling into the shore! Fresh and clean, works brilliantly in any

Each agate is unique in
shape and no two are the same.
Light to the feel and so smooth,
finished with lever back sterling
silver ear wires.
The stone was given its name by Theophrastus, a Greek philosopher and
naturalist, who discovered the stone along the shore line of the river
while searching for Algy Achates (Greek: Ἀχάτης) sometime between the
4th and 3rd centuries BC.
